ROLE PURPOSE
The role purpose of a general operative is to assist with the various functions of a busy construction site from a manual perspective. The general operative will be under the direction of the site manager or site foreman and will be expected to carry out duties such as manual handling of materials, general cleaning of site, assisting with loading and unloading of materials etc.
KEY TASKS
- General upkeep of the construction site
- Assisting in the loading and un-loading of materials and goods which are in transit on site
- Candidates with correct training and tickets can operate a loader or traffic management
- Ensuring that all work areas are clean and clear of debris or other materials which could cause hazard
- Assisting senior trade workers with daily tasks such as cable laying and tray run installation
- Other ad hoc duties as required by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Candidates ideally should have 1 or more years’ experience on a building site
- Candidates Must have a valid safe pass, manual handling certificate and harness training
- Candidates must have good attention to detail
- Candidates must have a good sense of pride in their work and be able to uphold the high qualities of Kirby’s at all time
- Candidates Ideally should have completed to at least leaving certificate standard
